Redmond, we have a problem…

Posted by bendz666 on December 4, 2007

The Fall update is now live for Xbox 360 users.  Unfortunately one of the few nice new features appears to be broken.  When you signed up for Xbox Live on Xbox 360 you were prompted to link your account to an email address.  The Fall update allows you to change that email address if you wish.  Only that seems to be causing problems on xbox.com.  These include all your xbox.com forum posts being deleted, your community user level suddenly decides it doesn’t know who you are, and your gamer tag will be replaced with with a special Fall update title of "anonymous".  So basically if you use xbox.com forums then don’t change your email addy.  You might also want to take this opportunity to ask yourself why you are using a forum populated by some of the most irritating young people in all of Webdom.

As you might expect the Microsoft Emergency Bug Repair Team are on the job and expect to fix the problem in a few days.  Don’t be surprised if this results in another dashboard update.  You’re spoiling us Microsoft!!  Me?  I’m going to change my email address right now.  I’m THAT hardcore.
